Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Set in 1997, while the South Korean economy was going through an economic crisis. Kang Tae-Poong’s (Lee Joon-Ho) father runs a small company named Typhoon Trading Company. Due to his wealthy father, Kang Tae-Poong lived a carefree life, but the worst economic crisis hits South Korea. This changes everything. While the economic crisis hits Typhoon Trading Company, Kang Tae-Poong’s father passes away. 

Kang Tae-Poong is determined not to let the company, which his father loved like his own family, go bankrupt. Kang Tae-Poong steps in to become the CEO and to save the company. Lee Jae-Wook & Shin Ye-Eun cast in ENA-Genie TV drama “Holdout Doctor”

Lee Jae-Wook & Shin Ye-Eun are cast in ENA-Genie TV drama series “Holdout Doctor” (literal working title). The drama series is based on webcomic “Jonbeodoctor” by Kim Tae-Poong and directed by Lee Myung-Woo (“Boyhood“). For “Holdout Doctor,” Lee Jae-Wook will play plastic surgeon Do Ji-Ui. He enlists as a public health doctor, to fulfill his mandatory military requirement, and gets assigned to work on a rural island village. There he meets Nurse Yook Ha-Ri (Shin Ye-Eun).

“Holdout Doctor” will air sometime next year in South Korea.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Do Ji-Ui (Lee Jae-Wook) is a plastic surgeon and works at a university hospital. To serve as a public health doctor, which fulfills his mandatory military requirement, he quits the hospital. He wants to avoid getting assigned to work on an island, due to trauma he has about the island and the sea. Unfortunately for Do Ji-Ui, he is assigned to work in the remote island village of Pyeondong-do, which is a notorious island that every public health doctor wants to avoid. There, he meets Nurse Yook Ha-Ri (Shin Ye-Eun), who works in the public health branch of Pyeondong-do. She used to work at a university hospital, but, for some reason, she came to Pyeondong-do and works here as a nurse. She has passion for her work and affection for her patients, but she also holds a secret. 

Serving as a public health doctor in the remote island village Pyeondong-do, Do Ji-Ui helps the island villagers and learns love from them, who are full of stories and personalities.

Main trailer and poster added for movie “Kaede” starring Sota Fukushi and Haruka Fukuhara. Movie is based on 1998 song “Kaede” by rock band Spitz and directed by Isao Yukisada. In movie “Kaede,” Sota Fukushi plays twin brothers Ryo Sunaga and Kei Sunaga. After older brother Kei Sunaga dies in an accident in New Zealand, his traumatized girlfriend Ako Kinoshita mistakes Ryo Sunaga to be Kei Sunaga. Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Baek Do-Ha (Lee Jae-Wook) and Baek Do-Yeong (Lee Jae-Wook) are twin brothers, but have lived apart since their parents’ divorced when they were young. Younger brother Baek Do-Ha lives in the United States and older brother Baek Do-Yeong lives in South Korea. Baek Do-Ha comes to South Korea and stays in a duplex house with his father and brother Baek Do-Yeong every summer for 21 days. During this time, he spends time with Baek Do-Yeong and next-door neighbor Song Ha-Kyeong (Choi Sung-Eun). Song Ha-Kyeong’s father is also good friends with the twins’ father. Song Ha-Kyeong grows up bickering with summer guest Baek Do-Ha, but grows to having feelings for him. She is unable to express her feelings to him, who only visits in the summer. Cha Tae-Hyun cast in drama “Private Taxi”

Cha Tae-Hyun is cast in drama series “Private Taxi” (literal title). Joining him in the drama series will be Lee Yeon-Hee, Lee Jae-In, Lim Se-Mi, Hyun Bong-Sik, Kim Do-Hyun, Mimi, Joo Jong-Hyuk, Ye Ji-Won, Ahn Ji-Ho, Lim Ha-Ryong, & Ye Soo-Jung. The drama series is based on webcomic “Gaeinjeokin Taxi” by ms**** and directed by Jeon Chang-Geun (“Mystic Pop-up Bar“). In “Private Taxi,” Cha Tae-Hyun will play the driver of a mysterious taxi. It picks riders by reservation only and those riders tell stories that are meaningful to them. They are also comforted by songs that they request.
