Main trailer and poster added for movie “Can’t Cry With Your Face” starring Kyoko Yoshine and Kaito Takahashi. Movie is based on 2021 novel “Kimi no Kao de wa Nakenai” by Kanata Kimijima and directed by Yuichiro Sakashita (“The Sunday Runoff“). Story for “Can’t Cry With Your Face” follows a male and female high school student when they fall into a swimming pool and find that they have switched bodies. They learn to live in their new bodies and continue to do so for 15 years. Then one of them reveals that they know how they can go back to their original bodies, but will they do so?
“Can’t Cry With Your Face” will be released November 14, 2025 in Japan.
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: On a summer day, during their first year in high school, Riku Sakahira (Kyoko Yoshine) and Manami Mizumura (Kaito Takahashi) fall into a swimming pool and switch bodies. They are confused by the swapping of their bodies, but there is nothing they can do about it. Manami Mizumura, living as Riku Sakahira, begins to enjoy a smooth daily life, but, Riku Sakahira, living as Manami Mizumura, is anxious and can’t feel at ease at all.
In their new bodies, they grow and move forward with their lives. At the same time, they are ready to return back to normal at any time. After 15 years, they are still living in each other’s bodies. One summer day, when they are now 30 years old, they reach a turning point. Manami Mizumura suddenly asks Riku Sakahira “What would you do if I told you I know how to go back to normal?” A decision must now be made.
