So Matsushima and Jin Shirasu are cast in TV Asahi drama series “Papa to Oyaji no Uchi Gohan.” Drama series is based on manga series “Papa to Oyaji no Uchi Gohan” by Yuu Toyota. Both lead male actors will play single fathers, who move into together to help each other raise their child. So Matsushima will play Tetsu Sengoku. He suddenly becomes a single father after his ex-girlfriend appears and leaves her daughter with him, while informing him that she is his daughter.
“Papa to Oyaji no Uchi Gohan” will first air October 4, 2025 in Japan (takes over TV Asahi’s Saturday 11PM time slot after “Revenge Spy“).
Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Tetsu Sengoku (So Matsushima) runs an osteopathic clinic. One day, his ex-girlfriend shows up and leaves her daughter Airi (Nono Tanahashi) with him. She tells him that Airi is his daughter. Tetsu Sengoku suddenly becomes a single father.
Masahiro Harumi (Jin Shirasu) works as a manga editor. He is a single father and raises his son Seiichiro (Sakura) alone. He divorced his wife due to her having an affair. Because of a past trauma, Masahiro Harumi is unable to use a knife.
Tetsu Sengoku & Masahiro Harumi are both single fathers and they struggle to raise their child alone. The two fathers meet at the kindergarten where their child attends and they decide to live together to help each other and get through their unfamiliar situations. The two single fathers and their daughter and son start living together. They struggle with everyday life while they grow up together.
